Large tourist farm, impressive dining room, excellent dinner, homemade products for breakfast - yogurt, jam, pastries, very very friendly staff - especially the lady who served us breakfast. Excellent olive oil, good wine, quiet location with a large garden and parking space.
Small shower in the bathroom, we had to find toilet paper ourselves, poor knowledge of English. There was no meat for breakfast - so a classic Italian breakfast
I've never before left a negative TripAdvisor review, but this place, alas, deserves one. The place - as a building - is fine. The rooms – clean and functional. The breakfasts however are very limited - olives (admittedly, lovely olives) …
Clean rooms. Good breakfast and homemade set menu for dinner. Family run and very hospitable. Antonella and her mother try their utmost to make your stay a pleasant one
We are from Ireland and stayed here for 5 nights. We had little or no Italian and the owners had little English. But this didn't cause a problem - between our phrase book and the owner's Google Translate we were fine. The house itself is …
Had dinner here, and it was great! We had the menu and the kids had the child menu. We adults were presented with a lot of perfectly cooked courses. The red house-wine was a great match with the food. The kids had pasta and then schnitzel with fried potatoes. Friendly staff.
Set menu (35€). Good good. You can feel that they use good and fresh products only but it lacked something. A bit of soul maybe. Something that makes you want to come again and again. And it’s a bit overpriced for what it is. 30€ would do best. We had some good appetizers, especially pickled vegetables (onions, peppers..) but we had better cheeses and hams/sausage before. The fregola with vegetables was good but the ravioli were a bit too dry (net enough ricotta filling ?) and a bit cold. As a main we had some good and juicy pork and roasted potatoes that had been cooked in some pretty tasty pork fat (I reckon ?) but not as crispy as you would want them. For dessert, fruits (too cold) or ice cream with honey. I didn’t get why other tables were offered another main course (a meat with olives from what it looked) and a dessert that is way more interesting that what we had (sebada).
Don't understand all the positive comments. This place was very disappointing. Overlooks a correctional institution. View from the terrace is a half completed concrete structure. Breakfast was extremely basic. On the other hand the room was …
I have been to this farmhouse on several occasions, the last of which was last August. Il Giglio proves to be a suitable place in which to spend time in peace and eat well: it is possible to walk through the orchards next to the structure and taste foods whose quality is recognizable and immediately appreciable: just think of the panadas, artfully made, to the excellence of their extra virgin olive oil (award-winning), meat and vegetables. Right portions, price in line with the quality offered, friendly staff. Reasonable service times, especially on more special and crowded occasions such as the August bank holiday. Antonella, Francesco and Anna are excellent hosts and know how to present the products and make customers feel at ease. I didn't have the opportunity to stay overnight in the facility, but I will try it. Advised.
